Introduction

The overview page is what people first see when they are searching for plans on The Bible App. It involves a couple of items.

  • The Devotional Title
  • An attractive image
  • An introductory paragraph
  • A publisher (landing page) link

These items will then appear in YouVersion Search Page looking something like this:

And on the individual plan page (what you would get if you click through to a searched plan), you would see this.

Checklist

    Here are the needed items for the initial overview page. 

  1. Plan Language: In which language will it be published.
  2. Plan Name: Limited to 50 characters. Choose them wisely. 
  3. Plan Description: Must be 70 words or less. Spend a lot of time working on this. It is part of your first impression.
  4. Small Image: This is the smaller photo that appears in the "search" above. It is 320pxx320px at 72dpi. This is the first thing people see so pick one that is attractive.
  5. Large Image: This is 1440px by 810px at 72dpi. In most cases, the image mostly matches your small image but that is not a requirement. But by having them match, people are less confused and do not think that they clicked the wrong button.
  6. *Organization(s) Listing: YouVersion allows this plan to be associated with one or more Cru accounts. Please pick from the list below the one or more to which you would like to be associated.*
  7. Categories: YouVersion allows you to have your plan placed in three categories. Click on this link for the the list of current categories that YouVersion Uses.
  8. ^Key Word List: You can enter up to 5 key words. Think of this as search words that people would use to find your plan. If you plan on publishing a number of plans, you may want to put in a unique keyword that no one would ever search on (e.g. we use our initials MYLC). What that does is it allows you to bring up all of your plans in once unique search. And you can provide a link. For example, this brings up all of our plans. https://www.bible.com/search/plans?q=mylc
  9. Landing Page Link: This is the URL that takes the reader to a landing page for more information. We recommend that this NOT be a link to your home page. This is so important that we have a whole page that your should read here.

You most likely received this help article because MYLC is working with you to get your plan published on The Bible App. We will use the support ticketing system to communicate back and for for needed items. If you have separate questions you can submit a support ticket here.


Additional Notes

*Organization Listing: Please note that the MYLC office only has control of your publication with the MYLC (Cru) account. If you choose to be associated with one of the other plans, they will have the ability to track your results and can make edits to your plans. We doubt that they would do that but if they do not know about your plan, that could happen. It makes no major difference on the public facing side of the plan.  Here is the list of current Cru related divisions that you can be connected to.

^Key Word List: If you desire to show up on people who search on the word "Cru" you may want to list it as a search word. Examples of search words would be "hope", "bible study", "students", "college", "athletes", etc.  Think of things that are different variations of the words you picked for your categories. Also, think in terms of how people search the web. You can get some insight from "Google Trends."
