There are a number of Cru ministries that are using the YouVersion Bible App. The publishing of plans is done through the partner portal. For ministries that are publishing and promoting a large number of plans, they have their own organization account set up.
YouVersion has two accounts (organizations) called Cru and Campus Crusade for Christ set up in the portal. At this time, those are "shared" portals. This means that multiple ministries are using the respective organization to input their plans and to see their analytics.
As a large worldwide ministry with multiple divisions, we need to be careful with how many accounts we have setup within YouVersion. We also need to be careful that their is consistency in how the individual plans represent the ministry as a whole when they are using our global name of Cru or Campus Crusade for Christ. In light of this, we recommend the following "Best Practices" for the shared portal.
- View but Never Edit Other Plans: This probably goes without saying, but please only edit and work with your own plan. Even if you see and error or typo in a plan, do not comment or edit it.
- Designated Owner: Each account has a designated owner who is the representative between Cru and YouVersion. That person is listed in the organization settings.
- Contact with YouVersion: For these two general accounts, it is the designated owner who would be the contact person with YouVersion for general matters. This would be things like adding another team member or making a organizational change to the account.
- Individual Plan Dialog: If you have questions or comments about an individual plan that you are publishing, you can use the "comments" section of the plan form to dialog with YouVersion. This would be regarding matters specific to your plan.
- Plan Topics: As a participant in the "general" Cru and CCCI portals, your plans need to be ones that would fit in well with the overall corporate mission and vision statement (i.e. a potentially devise, political or controversial plan would not get approved.)
- Number of Plans: When you get to the point of having five or more plans in one of these two general portals and you have plans for more, we may want to switch you out into your own organization. Contact the designated owner for additional information.
- Language Guidelines: You can publish these plans in any language (except Pirate). The language is not a matter of the portal account.
This list of best practices may be expanded and adjusted over time. If you have questions or comments you can use this link to create a support ticket.
